I believe the hero in my book is Trisha as I said in my last post. Since I have read further into my book, I see now that Trisha really is the real hero and she shows many ways on why she is! Some of the qualities Trish shows for being a hero is hard working, willing, determined, a self-sacrificer, cooperative, helpful, and loyal. I feel that all of these qualities are very important for a hero for when showing all of these things, for when showing all of these qualities, the character will come out to be the ultimate hero in everyone's eyes. Trish is all of these things for she works hard at getting chores done while her dad is in the hospital, she is willing to do all of these things by herself and doesn't complain about it, sacrifices her time and effort into getting it done, and is very helpful.
A quote from this book to support my thinking is on page 24 where Trisha said ; "No, David. I have much to do with Dad being away. I have a responsibility here! I can't go to some party!" I believe this quote proves that Trisha really does want to and is the hero.
These, I believe are very important hero qualities concluded my opinion that I believe the hero in my book is Trisha.
I chose two pictures of a girl exercising a horse which is what Trish does to show she is a hero, and a picture of a girl doing barn chores, which is another thing that Trish does to show she is a hero.
You know you've read a good book when you turn the last page and feel a little as if you have lost a friend. ~Paul Sweeney

In the book I am reading, The Golden Filly, the main character is named Trisha. I think Trisha has many archetypes to her for she shows many different emotions through the text and is on the sides of many different people, but I believe her main archetype is being the hero. At the beginning of the text, Trish is being trained for her big race on her horse Spitfire, by her dad. She firstly shows hero traits for she sets aside all of her other work to make sure she trains Spitfire to win(self-sacrifice)! Then later on in the text, she has to deal with her dad going to the hospital for a very severe cough, and is willing and shows self-sacrifice for she makes sure all of the tasks he was supposed to do around the barn are done and does not stop to pity herself for the loss of her dad. I am not far in the book, but so far those are the traits I have seen in Trisha to show the archetypal trait of being the hero.

In the book Golden Filly, the main characters name is Tricia. She is a very sweet girl, who loves horses. She believes she doesn't need to go to school and persue her career in racing. I picked the character trait : determined. Tricia is determined to get her gelding under way and make him a racing star. Other than that, she wants to get herself ready to race in the Portland Meadows Racetrack. Because she is determined, she works very hard at making herself and her horse the best they could be to win the race and qualify to get in the race confirming me on giving her the character trait : determined.
The video I picked to represent Tricia is the video :

I am finished the book Ruined By Paula Morris, and it reminded me of another book I read called The Gravesavers. In both books, the main character isa girl, and goes to stay with a family member while their parents are have gone away. They both descover ghosts who help them understand about the history of their town and figure out more about their family history. Both girls restore their community, and fix a terrible thing that had kept happening. Now that I think about it, both books are very, very similar! And I enjoyed both of them alot! That is what my book Ruined reminded me of.

I am reading the book,Ruined By Paula Morris . So far, the book is really, really good !! The main character is a girl named Rebecca who lives with her Dad for her Mom died when she was younger. When Rebecca's Dad went away to China for a buisness trip, Rebecca stayed with her "Aunt" Claudia who really isn't her Aunt but is a close family friend. Rebecca goes there for the first time, and they live in New Orleans. Rebecca attends a new school for she is going to be staying there for 6 months. She soon comes to realize that New Orleans is not an ordinary place. When following a group of people from her school into the locked cemetary, she meets a ghost named Lisette who is a black slave. Lisette tells Rebecca her story of how she died, and how she walks to her old house once every year on the same day, which was coming up soon. Lisette asks if she wants to come along, and Rebecca is revealed into the wonderful world of ghosts. When Rebecca gets invited to a party for the most popular girl at school with a really cute boy, she goes and Lisette tells her she would be there too. When kissing the cute boy on the porch of the party, Rebecca spots Lisette as she walks into the party and she hears a very loud scream. Its the popular girl, Helena who is hosting the party. She cries out, "Mom! It's her, it's the black ghost!" And starts screaming histarically. No one else can see Lisette except for Rebecca and Helena. Soon, Anton, the cute boy who Rebecca is with explains that there is a curse on the girls of the Bowman house (the house of Helena) that each girl born into the family would die tragically before her 17 birthday if she sees the ghost. That's as far as I have read so far, but the whole story is based around if Helena can see the ghost, she'll die and since Rebecca can see it, can she die too ? I'm so excited to finish the book and can't wait untill I do !
In Ruined, there is a girl named Rebecca who goes to stay with her Aunt in New Orleans when her Dad goes away on a buisness trip to China. While there, Rebecca finds out many interesting and creepy things about the little town inside New Orleans. Finding a ghost in the cemetary beside her house, she reveals many secrets not just about the town, but about her own family and the connection between her and the mean, rich girl at school. Staying untill Mardi Gras, many interesting things happen to Rebecca including meeting and hanging out with the cutest guy ever and getting caught in the locked cemetary. I would suggest this book to any one who is interested in mystery and suspense plus knowing a little bit more about the town of New Orelans.

The reason why I picked my quote was because I feel it describes how I feel after I've read a book. I really made a connection when I read it for I feel it is very true. When reading a book, everyone develops feelings for the characters so in the middle, you feel like your apart of it, and by the end, you feel like you know the characters. I had very strong emotions for this quote so therefore I picked it.
